Dynamix.

Before the new year myself, Rax, Jake and Jonny decided to ride Dynamix skatepark located in Gateshead, as the winter was in full flow with all the elements involved riding out side was just know option. We took the train to Newcastle and then biked into Gateshead, now riding through Newcastle was just a first for me as you get the better angle of spots and what its really got to offer but the streets weren't ready for us yet, a few more months till they'll be hit up. On the way to Dynamix we came across a very large icicle hanging from a bridges guttering and running all the way down to the floor it was complete madness, the picture speaks for itself!

We arrived at Dynamix in good time and Jonny and Jake went Mc D's, being there early gave me the chance to have a look round the park but all register. Originally the park was actually used was just a ghetto set up for locals who new of the warehouse and also used for P5 BMX Jam but now its actually got a set up skatepark and has funding in the works. The park is made up of many different sections but overall quite a random park with parts of it actually donated such as the Chester-le-street jumpbox, now in my opinion it was not the best park i have ever been to but it somewhere for people to ride when weathers against us.
So there was a pretty good turn out on the day as usually from what ive heard and we managed to get pretty good session in, one downer for me was trying an opposite feeble to 180 on a ledge there and hung up resulting in my hitting my head VERY hard, but luckily I was wearing a helmet. For the rest of the day I was a bit of girl as my neck was killing from it whipping back so hard but the pains gone now. So overall was a good day of riding got to see some of the locals shred and also the lads to but sadly it didn't end so well, after riding back to the train station after enjoying some very nice food from Subways we were greeted by a man as we were entering the turnstiles, this man then began to tell us that all trains to Sundelrand are cancelled due to the staff being on strike this included coaches. This put us in a bit of a dilemma as we had already payed for return tickets and some of us had no money left. This meant we were left with the option of hoping someone could pick all four of us up or we were biking the horrible cold fifteen miles home. Thankfully after a calling around and also feeling sorry for ourselves we were rescued by Jays dad in his taxi for £20. An eventful day. Stay BAB

  1. I agree with your views on Dynamix, I feel that the place doesnt have as much flow as it should with the space they have to offer. I mean its good fun and its something indoor to ride in the north east, they've done well with such a shortage of funding too!
